Stanwick Bowls Club
Potential New Bowlers Welcomed To Our Club
Are we getting older, or is the new generation of bowlers much younger than our current membership?
We were delighted to welcome members of the 1st Woodford Rainbows and 1st Raunds Methodist Brownies to our Club on the evening of 25 September 2024.
The young visitors were coached in the tricky art of indoor short mat bowls and had great fun in trying to be nearest the jack.
We are grateful to our friends at Finedon Town Bowling Club for the kind loan of their child sized woods.
SBC Welcomes Visitors To Our Club To Try Bowls For Free
On the afternoon of Saturday 25 May 2024 we opened our Club to all comers interested in trying bowls and seeing what we can offer in terms of enjoyable, friendly sport and friendship. We welcomed some experienced bowlers together with complete beginners through the door and hope to see some of those faces return to take part in our friendly roll up sessions on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons and Friday evenings.

Friday Evening Roll Up at the Start of the 2024 Summer Season
It takes more than a chilly evening (note the clothing!) to keep keen SBC bowlers away from the green.

2022 Stanwick vs Finedon Bowls Club

On Saturday 3 September 2023, with the outdoor bowling season drawing to a close, Stanwick BC welcomed Finedon BC for a friendly match.
"Friendly" doesn't necessarily been non-competitive though! In a tight game, and needing a big score on the final end, Stanwick managed the narrowest of victories, edging the match by 58 points to 57.
